Joe Kirkwood
Joe Kirkwood is a Canadian, United States and United Kingdom citizen. He was born in Belfast, Ireland and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Mr. Kirkwood is a graduate of the University of Manitoba Law School and is a member of the Alberta Bar who practiced corporate and commercial law in Calgary, Canada with the law firm of Macleod Dixon.
In 1992 he immigrated to the United States and has conducted U.S. immigration seminars in Canada and the United States. Mr. Kirkwood is a member of the California Bar and the American Immigration Lawyers Association. He is also a member of the A.I.L.A. Committee for Health Care Professionals, the A.I.L.A. Investor Committee as well as a member of the Board of Directors of the Canadian Club of San Diego. He has conducted seminars on United States immigration in Canada and the United States with a focus on healthcare providers (including J-1 physicians), professional athletes, investors, multinational executives and professionals working in IT and STEM positions.
Joe regularly presents to professional associations throughout the United States, including the Association of Staff Physician Recruiters (ASPR) and the Professional Hockey Players Association (PHPA) to address changes to immigration law. His clients are located throughout the United States and worldwide and include health care systems, multinational entities, IT businesses (established and startups), professional sports teams, leagues & associations and companies of all sizes that employ professionals in need of immigration assistance.
